This module taught me to a completely different introduction to the components of environmental conditions and issues in relation to architecture. Environmental awareness, costs and benefits of human intervention in the environment relationship between buildings and the natural system, how climate influences architecture design were taught over a 8 week period.
Lectures, Tutorial sessions for students in small groups were held to focus on every single students performance by the lecturers. Tests and in class activities were also done simultaneously.
ASSIGNMENT 1: Human - Space - Climate
From the data collected and analysed of a 3 day period as a group under the topics shading and lighting and strategies that encourage effective environmental design principle sand building practices were identified. This 5 week long assignment taught us how to identify environmental conditions related to site conditions, climate etc. Also, factors relate to thermal comfort, human factors and building site in context wee learnt.
